Description An account of the resource Robert Chambers was a Scottish journalist, antiquarian, publisher and evolutionary thinker from Peebles. Along with his brother William, he was one of the founders of the famous Chambers publishing house. The Chambers brothers rose from modest beginnings to be pillars of Edinburgh society. Today, Robert Chambers is probably most famous as the author of Vestiges of the Natural History of Creation (first edition 1844), his anonymously published evolutionary magnum opus.
