One of the first female graduates of the University of St. Andrews graduating with an M.A. in 1902 and a B.Sc. in 1903&#13;
Profession:&#13;
After graduating she went on to do research work in the chemistry department working with Irvine. In this time, she co-authored five publications on simple sugars. She was awarded the prestigious Carnegie scholarship in 1907 for her research. Unknown what she did in-between these years and her retirement from the Ministry of Education in 1946.&#13;
