Depending on the weather conditions, the lighthouse may be visible as a small white dot on the horizon. The Bell Rock lighthouse is the world’s oldest working sea-washed lighthouse (built out at sea, often on a rock or reef) and was built from 1807 – 1811 by Robert Stevenson and John Rennie.
